Origine des Ecoles Leersoises
Before the existence of the school, the children were educated by the clerks (the tutors at home). The republican law of December 19th, 1793 promulgates the creation of elementary council schools.
1832
Mr. Pascal Messien welcomes children into his house to teach them. He is also the clerk of the parish.
1835
Mr Jean-Louis Messien (the son of Pascal) sign in his house located behind the Town hall of the village. (at the time established on the place - see the plan of 1832 -) and that until the construction of the first "house-school" leersoise. The decision is made in 1843 by the Town council with in the chair Napoleon Favier Duthoit, mayor of 1840 to 1848. The project does not succeed.
1847
The mixed school is too small. The girls then go with a girl we do not know the name. Its small house is located at side of the presbytery.
1849
On March 29, has decided to install the local committee to monitor the primary education of Leers. It is composed of the Mayor Henri Salembier, gentlemen Desprez, Droulers, Delannoy and a member of right, Mister priest JB Drubay.
1851
Under the leadership of Mayor Henri Salembier, the first "home-school" is built into the long street (rue Joseph Leroy) on the corner with "rue Massena". the date engraved on the frontage of this private house: 1851. The girls settled there in 1852. They are directed by the Ladies of the Holy-Union.
1852
Wish of the City Council to create two separate educational institutions.
1862
Following the decision of the Municipal Council in 1858, a second school was built in the street of Wattrelos (street of General de Gaulle on the current site of the school Blin-Peri). This is the first public school for girls. The boys integrate the building of the long street.
1867
In 1867 the city council decided to build a second class on the 1st floor of the school boys. There were 130 students.
1879
The Republic (Jules Ferry was then Minister of Education) prohibited with the catholic congregations to teach.
1881
Following the law on laicization, the Sisters of the Holy Union of the school girls were replaced by laic teachers.
1882
In the boys' school, 352 students from 3 to 13 years are divided in 2 classes. The City Council decided to build a new school.
1884
Opening of the new school built opposite the old school in 1851 (Gabriel Peri site). Small Leersois make their return to school across the street.
1888
On November 20, opening of a school in the alley of the vicars (rue Marceau) in the patronage of the parish by the will of the Salembier family whose member is a mayor (Henry) and the priest Bordoduc Jules.
3 classes are open as well. We built a fourth class and a dwelling house for the nuns. This school is called "St. Henri" in honor of the mayor. It is the school for the girls whose parents want to preserve a Christian education.
1902
The school of the girls Saint Henri must close on July 16 on order of the Prefect, following the law 1901. Its reopening is effective in 1903 under the direction of Miss Cécile Boeykens then Miss Gabrielle Macron.
1945
On october 27, the City Council under the presidency of the mayorAndrew Kerkhove and the proposal of the school board decides to call the public school boys' school Gabriel Peri 'and girls' school Suzanne Lanoy-blin " in memory of men and women who have shown great patriotism in the War 39/45.
Suzanne Lanoy-Blin, born July 8, 1913, was Professor of History at the Ecole Normale de Douai. She was responsible for a newspaper of resistant teachers. She was arrested a first time in October 1942 then March 1944. She died March 6, 1944 as a result of torture by the Gestapo.
Gabriel Peri was born February 2, 1902, journalist of profession was deputy of Argenteuil at the 30 years oldResistant he was arrested in May 1941 and then shot by the Germans at Mount Valerian on December 15, 1941.
1946
Act of May 22. Just before the agreement is signed at St. Henry and state rules on compulsory education, the director Miss. Teresa Lepers chooses to rename the school by the name " Jeanne d' Arc " boss guides which she belongs.
1955 :
Mayor Andrew Kerkhove poses the 1st stone of the new school of the girls on the site of the school built in 1862. It will include six classes.
1970
At the time of the meeting of the Town council of October 3 the mayor André Kerkhove proposes the construction of a school complex to "Buisson" and the establishment of a nursery school in the district of the center.
1971
In November the town of Leers hold talks with the urban community, while competent in the matter, for the construction of a CES
1974
On the site of the Castle of Britain are built 6 classes. This nursery school opens its doors under the name of Alice Cotteaux.
Cotteaux Alice, born February 4, 1862 at Maurois in the north, arrived at Leers on 1 October 1901. She taught until 1928. It was she who laid the foundations of the public school girls.
1977
The school complex of Buisson, chaired by Lucien Demonchaux newly elected mayor of the city The nursery school which counts 6 classes takes the name Pauline Kergomard. Primary school is named Leonard de Vinci.
Pauline Kergomard was Inspector General of Education. Born in Bordeaux in 1838, she was the inspiration for the nursery school in France.
Leonard de Vinci, born April 15, 1452 in Vinci, Italy and died in Amboise May 2, 1519, is a Florentine painter and a man of universal mind an artist, scientist, engineer, inventor, architect ... ..
1982
At its meeting on June 18, the urban community decides to build a CES type 600 to Leers.
1986
The C.E.S. built in the Papinerie opens at the beginning of September. The director is Mr. Bonte. It will be known as Alphonse Daudet, by decision of the Municipal Council dated 19 August 1987.
Alphonse Daudet was born in Nîmes May 13, 1840 and died in Paris Dec. 16, 1897, is a French writer and dramatic author.
2004
Taking into account the evolution of the demographics, Taking into account the evolution of and City Council are considering the consolidation of schools.
2007
Regrouping of the schools Lanoy-Blin and Gabriel Perished to form the Blin-Peri group. Director: Eric Skyronka.
2010
Regrouping of the schools Blin-Peri and Alice Cotteaux, under the direction of Eric Skyronka.
Regrouping of the schools Léonard de Vinci and Pauline Kergomard under the direction of Caroline Majescik.
Origin of schools of Leers
