Trams with Leers

The city of Leers was connected in Roubaix by the tram "H", the recollection of which is affectedly guarded for the museum of Amitram to Marquette under the shape of the engine " 638 " of Electrique Lille-Roubaix-Tourcoing.

On Saturday, May 2nd, 1908 inauguration of the libe of tram " Mongy " from Leers to Lille via Lannoy by Mister the prefect of North, the most important line of the group secondary, 15,660 km long.

On March 1st, 1935, the terminus is returned to Lys lez Lannoy. The line Lannoy-Leers is taken again by the line "T" ( Lannoy-Leers-Wattrelos) who was abolished on February 23rd, 1936.

The line Roubaix-Leers-Wattrelos

April 3rd, 1909, the beginning of the exploitation of the line Roubaix-Leers-Wattrelos by the Trieu of Carihem and Leers Bifur, the 4,905 km long. abolished in 1936 the line merged with the line "H" which was also abolished on May 2nd, 1953 and replaced by a service of bus under index 17.

The line Leers-Roncq

January 7th, 1912, began some exploitation of the line Leers-Roncq with Wattrelos and Tourcoing is a line of 12,500 km. This line was abolished in March, 1935.

Leers was until 1936 the meeting place of these three lines of trams, work of the company of Alfred Mongy's, Electrique Lille-Roubaix-Tourcoing ( ELRT).

Year 1951 marks the first important deletions in the tramway network of the ELRT by the purchase of bus of Chausson mark.
